2010 Fall Camporee

We attended the Mustang District Fall Camporee. It was held at Historic Fort Snelling. The camp-out was really fun. We had these papers in our hands the whole time and they were called the passport to history. Inside these amazing passports were questions that could answered inside the fort. We had to travel all over the place to find the answers to these questions that not many of our leaders could have answered. Some of the places included the commandant’s house which was located on the far side of the fort. We learned some very and most interesting facts there: that the house is the oldest in Minnesota’s entire house collection, that is a lot. Along side the fort questions there were the questions for getting the historic fort snelling patch, which included a 5 mile hike. We never had the chance to do the hike. The flag in the is not a 50 star flag, it actually contains 24 stars, but still had 13 stripes. Outside the fort and inside our campsite, we had the most amazing pleasure of inviting webloes, some of who will be joining our troop soon. A few of them are from different packs and I have got to say that our troop has made an impact on them, and they said to me “I love this troop and you guys are awesome” I really want to thank you for doing that. We had a great time and hope we continue to make this troop grow, build and continue to make an impact on the scouting program.


The slogan this year of the historian is: It’s our year, because after all it’s the 100th year of scouting.
