Cub Scout Pack 738 is a chartered organization made up of parents and families who believe the Cub Scout program of the Boy Scouts of America helps the boys of today develop into the leaders of tomorrow.  These bylaws govern Pack 738, except where Boy Scouts of America (BSA) policies shall supersede them.  The Pack will attempt to help each boy grow mentally and physically as well as to become a better citizen by employing and executing the program of Cub Scouting  as outlined by BSA. This includes teaching responsibility and good moral character to our scouts. In all things, we will strive to fulfill the Cub Scout Promise, “…to do my best, to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people, and to obey the law of the Pack”.  We believe Cub Scouting is a family activity and that parental involvement is an integral part of a strong, organized Pack. It is the responsibility of the parents and leaders to ensure that the Pack grows and prospers for the benefit of its current and future members.

The ten purposes of Cub Scouting are:

1.      Character Development

2.      Spiritual Growth

3.      Good Citizenship

4.      Sportsmanship and Fitness

5.      Family Understanding

6.      Respectful Relationships

7.      Personal Achievement

8.      Friendly Service

9.      Fun and Adventure

10.   Preparation for Boy Scouts

              VISION STATEMENT OF TROOP 738

Ø     A troop that recognizes that young men come first.

Ø     A troop where scouts are given the opportunity to learn to lead and grow.

Ø     A troop where the chartered organization approves the leadership, and reaches out to 100% of the community.

Ø     A troop that accepts boys of diverse cultures and faiths, and levels of ability.

Ø     A troop where mistakes are opportunities to learn.

Ø     A troop where the trail and lessons learned is more important than rank advancement or merit badges.

Ø     A troop where perfection is the goal toward which we strive, but not the standard against which we measure success.

Ø     A troop where lots of recognition is given to young men and volunteers for their accomplishments and for their efforts.

Ø     A troop where volunteers are welcome and encouraged, receive support, training, and have fun in accomplishing their tasks.

Ø     A troop where meetings and training sessions are fun and exciting.

Ø     A troop that reaches out to the community and makes alliances with other troops to allow our scouts to experience all levels of scouting.
